We loved last summer’s strawberry girl movement, and this year its about to be just as popular. But alongside strawberry-toned cheeks and lipgloss, strawberry girl scents are set to take off.
For the uninitiated, the cute, wholesome trend (which took off on TikTok and was endorsed by the likes of Hailey Bieber) pays tribute to a juicy strawberry colour palette. There’s an organic romance to the aesthetic which conjures up picnics al fresco, walking barefoot through the garden with a punnet of strawbs and reading a book in the sunshine. As for scents, here’s five of our favourite Strawberry girl scents for summer…
Phlur Strawberry Letter
We’re huge fans of Missing Person and Father Figure on the GLAMOUR team, so we couldn’t wait to get a good spritz of Phlur’s latest scent baby, Strawberry Letter. This opens with a burst of bright, juicy strawberry that’s a total mood boost in a single spritz.
It has a playful, nostalgic quality to it – it smells like the bubble baths you’d have as a kid. But, it also has a slightly more grown-up sexiness, thanks to amber, tonka bean and earthy notes coming through the base. This is like going for a picnic in the park with your mates – think wholesome hampers and gingham blankets paired with a game of rounders and grass stains. She’s fun, she’s fruity, she’s here for a good time and we love her.
Burberry Her Elixir
Strawberry Letter smells very similar to Burberry Her Elixir, they both have yummy, playful vibes, only Burberry Her Elixir is sun-warmed strawberries drizzled in cool cream. It has a softer milkshake vibe to it thanks to creamy vanilla in the blend. It also has a slightly flirty dry down with sexy amber and grounding sandalwood in the base. It’s sweet, it’s cheeky, but it’s nuzzly and approachable, too. The perfect girl next door spritz.
Malin + Goetz Strawberry
If you want an organic scent that captures the reality of a strawberry growing in an English garden, this does it beautifully. It’s less sweet and gives more of a green interpretation – like a strawb still growing from its stalk. It has unisex leafy notes and a dewiness, like it’s just emerged from the rain. This is a strawberry at the start of the summer, it’s still slightly tart and green. It’s humble, wholesome and a little more earthy.
YSL Mon Paris
This is an elegant but cute strawberry, joined by raspberry, pear, peony, jasmine, musk, patchouli and cedar. It opens fresh, fizzy, innocent and youthful, with a sweet, syrupy feel to it, before it moves toward a woody, green base. With its bellini vibes, it’s the perfect girl’s brunch scent.
The Body Shop Strawberry Body Mist
This is bona fide nostalgia if you remember spritzing yourself in this stuff back in high school. The scent remains as fun, fruity and feel-good as ever. The burst of sweet, juicy strawberry smells like a ripe punnet and candy, and for £12 it’s an affordable way to weave a strawberry girl scent into your life.
