The Vanderpump Rules season 11 finale recently aired, and it has everyone talking. Most fans are in agreement that Ariana Madix didn’t need to talk to Tom Sandoval, but some of the cast was divided on the topic. Now, Andy Cohen is speaking out about the cast breaking the fourth wall.

In the recent finale, fans can see Ariana having a heated exchange with the producers after refusing to speak to Tom. Of course, there have been instances of this happening on reality shows, but it’s always interesting because one of the objectives is to always ignore the fact that they are filming a show.

Recently, Andy opened up about this on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live and discussed why this moment was so impactful.

He begins by saying, “The best kind of, you know, issues or arguments or whatever on these shows are when everybody is a little bit right, and this seems to be one where everybody is a little bit right.”

Andy then discusses the relationship between Scheana Shay, Lala Kent, and Ariana. He says, “You know, look, it was also interesting that I thought Scheana and Lala’s reactions were really interesting because Scheana, who’s been the ride or die for Ariana, she was not ride or die there in that last moment. She was making points.”

Andy then talks about the cast not seeing the finale until the reunion.

“Now, you know, and I guess you figured out if you’ve seen the “Vanderpump Rules” trailer, none of them saw the ending of that episode. We showed it all to them at the reunion, and that inspired a very emotional reaction and debate, and I think everyone seeing it together really shifted the platelets in that universe because it was almost like they were seeing, you know, I don’t know if some of those people thought that what aired would air and that we would bust open the fourth wall in such an intense way. Let’s get into it.”

His cohost, John, then says, “I see what Ariana’s saying though. I mean, I do get it, but also, I feel like her point was, “Yes, I get what you all want me to do. I don’t want to do it right now,” and that’s also her right on the show to be on the show in a documentary series.”

John continues, “She’s like, “That’s his story.” She sees his story so clearly. She’s like, “He wants this apology from me, and that’s gonna tie things up in a bow and fuck him,” and she can also make the mistake of living with him. I don’t know. It’s messy, and it’s real, and I hold grudges like that, and it’s something I’m working on, so I’m inspired by Ariana.”

Andy then praises the producers, “I love that the producers framed it that way. I thought it was really interesting. They kind of turned the show inside out, wouldn’t you say?”

Part 1 of the reunion airs on Mary 14th on Bravo. Fans can stream it on Peacock the next day.
