Andy Cohen Says Hilaria Baldwin Was In Talks to Join RHONY

Andy Cohen confirmed that Hilaria Baldwin was in talks with Bravo’s RHONY franchise before announcing her new TLC show with her husband, Alec Baldwin.

“Well, we actually had a discussion with her a little while ago about [joining Real Housewives of New York City],” Andy Cohen revealed on Let’s Talk Off Camera With Kelly Ripa podcast. “No, she’s not a new real housewife. I would say it was an exploratory conversation, and it didn’t go much further, but it is certainly an interesting idea.”

“But it was funny because I read that Kyle Richards had said that on your podcast, and I thought, ‘Oh, well, that’s funny,’ because we actually, we did speak to her a couple [of] years ago,” the Watch What Happens Live host continued.

When asked if he ever thought about creating a show centered around Hilaria and Alec and their large family, Andy Cohen said, “Not a bad idea. I wonder how Alec would feel about surrendering control of his portrayal to someone else. I think that’s a good [idea], I think that’s, Keeping Up With the Baldwins. Keeping Up With the Baldwinitos.”

Earlier this year, rumors began to circulate that Hilaria was rumored to be joining the cast of the Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills.

Speculation about Hilaria joining the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills started in March when OG star Kyle Richards called the 40-year-old a prime candidate to join the show.

While appearing on SiriusXM’s Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa, Kyle revealed that she mentioned the idea of Hilaria joining RHOBH years ago when she ran into Alec in New York City.

“Well, I told him. I saw him in New York. I don’t know, it was a couple years back and I said something about it then, and then I was like, he’s like, ‘Oh, we’re living in New York,’ but I don’t know. He said something about her in LA and I was like, ‘Well, the door’s open,’” Kyle said.

Then, in April, In Touch reported that the 40-year-old yoga instructor was spotted shuttling their seven children around Los Angeles, where she met with RHOBH executives about joining the series.

“She created a whole false narrative about herself as a Spanish aristocrat a couple of years ago, even faking a Spanish accent though she was born and raised in Boston as Hillary Hayward-Thomas,” noted the insider“She’s made for reality TV! She loves being the center of attention. This is a win-win for her, especially if Alec winds up cooling his heels behind bars.”

Rumors has it that Hilaria and Alec have been floating around the idea of doing a reality TV series based on their family for quite a while.

In November 2023, a source told PEOPLE that the 65-year-old actor and his 40-year-old wife were “pitching a family reality show that would give an inside look at their life.”

The source said the couple liked “the idea of giving people a behind-the-scenes look at raising a big family.”

The two have been married since 2012 and share children: Carmen Gabriela, 10, Rafael Thomas, 8, Leonardo Ángel Charles, 7, Romeo Alejandro David, 5, Eduardo “Edu” Pao Lucas, 3, María Lucía Victoria, 3, and Ilaria Catalina Irena, 18 months.

RHOBH is expected to return to Bravo in late 2024 or early 2025.
