It seems every brand in the world is hopping on the designer collaboration train at the moment, but you won’t hear the fashion pack complaining. Jigsaw x ROKSANDA is the latest union on everyone’s wishlists, and it’s a good’n.
Jigsaw is a high street hero – bringing contemporary classics within budget – while Roksanda Ilinčić is one of British fashion’s most impactful designers. Together? The Jigsaw x ROKSANDA collaboration is one of the most coveted. And it dropped today.
Following on from the success of their partnership debut last autumn, the womenswear brands have joined forces again for an exclusive 12-piece capsule for spring/summer 2024.
“Our second collection for Jigsaw presents a continuation of narrative inspired by art, dance, movement and colour,” says Roksanda Ilinčić. “Fluid dresses mixed with masculine tailoring, hand painted prints inspired by ‘flowers in motion’ are some of the elements that have shaped this collection into an expression of movement and freedom, softness and strength.”
A celebration of women, the limited edition line-up is defined by fluid silhouettes (think: floaty dresses and softened trouser suits), blending ROKSANDA’s signature sculptural forms, cuts, and colour-blocking with Jigsaw’s considered approach to a modern wardrobe. A match made in heaven, if you ask me.
Roksanda Ilinčić studied architecture before moving to fashion and always brings art gallery glamour to her designs, whether that’s an ‘off’ colour combo, which actually works (like lime green, coral pink and lilac – who knew?) or sculptural shapes and silhouettes that bring the drama to a simpler look.
As one of London Fashion Week’s standout shows ROKSANDA is a favourite of the Princess of Wales and Michelle Obama. As her own collection dresses usually ring in around £1000, the price points of the Jigsaw x ROKSANDA collaboration are a treat. Starting from £225, they are enough of an investment to feel special and we can attest that the quality and craftsmanship mean they are no one season-wonder.
Jo Sykes is Jigsaw’s Creative Director and shared her thoughts of the first collab back in October 2023: “It has been a joy to work with Roksanda and see her vibrant design spirit injected into Jigsaw’s signature fabrics and silhouettes.”
Roksanda echoed the sentiments that they’re in a perfect partnership. “Combining my love of art, tactility, sculptural shapes and above all colour with Jigsaw’s classic, playful and timeless designs has resulted in a collection that is both fun and elegant, practical, and ethereal,” she said.
From the sweeping satin maxi skirt in turquoise to the watercolour print separates, which were painted by hand and then digitally remastered in the Jigsaw atelier to create a unique abstract artwork, there’s an evident dedication to high-quality and expressive yet wearable fashion here. How could you not approve?
