Lala Kent wants fans to know why she was so “angry” at the Vanderpump Rules reunion.
Weeks after the three-part special aired, Lala appeared on Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright‘s podcast, where she explained her biggest issues with Tom Sandoval and Raquel Leviss, addressed Raquel’s current status on the show, and reacted to Hulu’s documentary on her “fraudulent” ex-fiance, Randall Emmett, who reportedly owes Jax a whopping $75,000.
“I thought it was very well done,” Lala said of The Randall Scandal: Love, Loathing and Vanderpump on the June 17 episode of When Reality Hits With Jax and Brittany. “It broke my heart to see these kids who moved to Hollywood and had like, these incredible dreams. And not only did he break their dreams, he like, broke them as people.”
Although Randall has slammed the doc as a “vindictive hit piece,” Lala said he “should actually be thanking God that this is all that’s in this documentary.”
“He stays in his fraudulent box, and I stay in reality,” she noted.
According to Lala, she and Randall, who share two-year-old daughter Ocean, “don’t really communicate.” And while she feels bad that he owes Jax money, she’s happy she no longer has to pay Randall for their once-shared podcast.
“I don’t think many people know that I was paying him,” she revealed. “He would not let go of the money with the podcast. Like, when I kicked him off of it and said, ‘There’s no version of me doing this with you,’ he would not let go of the freaking money. I’m so freaking thrilled that I don’t have to pay this guy anymore. It was [a year contract]. It was crazy because most months I paid him more than he paid Ocean in child support. I was cutting a check for more with the podcast.”
“I was actually his sugar mama. He was actually the gold digger in this,” she added.
Lala also said that when it comes to Randall’s alleged past-due balance with Jax, “I don’t think Jax is the only one looking for a check.”
During the podcast, Brittany asked what Lala felt was the “biggest misconception” Pump Rules fans have of her before sharing her own thoughts on the matter.
“If I post something with you sometimes I’ll see people being like, ‘She’s mean,’ or ‘She’s a bully,’ or something like that,” Brittany revealed. “I think it’s just cuz you are so tough and you have such a quick wit so it’s easy for you to hit them where it hurts but I don’t think people realize how big of a heart you have and how much love you have for everybody and how good of a friend and how, like, devoted you are to your family and your friends.”
And Lala agreed with Brittany’s assessment.
“I think I’m tough and I think I’m vocal and strong and people want to use the wrong words,” she explained. “They want to say that I’m angry, or I’m bitter, I’m a bully… and everyone wants to slam my mouth and the way it works until my mouth is what’s defending you and you really, really like it. [But] as long as I can go home and be like, ‘I’m really proud of myself today. We made some mistakes but we’ll try better tomorrow.’”
Although Lala feuded with Tom Schwartz amid Pump Rules season 10 and shaded him for keeping Sandoval and Raquel’s affair a secret, she told Jax and Brittany they’re in a better place today.
“I shake things off very quickly,” Lala admitted, asking if it was true that Schwartz “cut ties with Sandoval.”
“So he was on our podcast and he straight-up told us, multiple times, that he was taking a break from Sandoval, that he feels like he was used by Sandoval, that Sandoval has a huge ego, I mean, he went in,” Brittany confirmed.
Moving on to the reunion, Lala said she “watched it like a hundred times” and stated that she was “thrilled” with how it turned out and had no regrets, despite any backlash that erupted.
“Watching myself [as] a viewer, I was like, ‘This is like really good,’ watching everybody, I mean, [James Kennedy] was great. I think people loved part one and part two. I think part three, it started getting intense because Raquel was clearly not right,” Lala explained. “And I don’t want to say that I sympathize with her because I didn’t, but at the end of the day… When you’re filming a reality TV show, you assume that everyone who’s filming is mentally equipped to handle things that come out of your mouth.”
“The moment that I watched Raquel in her five-minute little confessional where she definitely told the entire truth, I sat there and I was like, ‘We’re maybe dealing with someone who’s not okay to be in this environment,’” Lala continued.
Although Lala isn’t sure that reality TV is the right platform for Raquel, she said that when it comes to her potential return, Raquel has to “make that call.”
Lala then said she “definitely [doesn’t] regret” how she approached Raquel at the reunion.
“She really came for me this season, pretty hard… She was calling me names all season, ‘mistress,’ ‘chicken sh-t.’ [And] I think had Sandoval not said everything he said to me so preachy while he was doing that and then Raquel calling me all those names while she was doing that, I don’t think I would’ve been as angry,” she confessed. “I think I would’ve been like, ‘Sh-t happens.’ That’s Ariana’s deal, right? She can take on her own fight. She’s the one that was cheated on.”
“I was pissed off that y’all called me all these names when you were doing that,” she added.
Vanderpump Rules season 11 is currently in production and expected to begin airing on Bravo sometime later this year or early next year.
