Mount Desert Island Office Welcomes Kristi Jacoby

Northeast Harbor, Maine (June 2023): Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty, Maine’s leading Luxury real estate company, is proud to announce that Kristi Jacoby of Mount Desert Island has joined the brokerage in Northeast Harbor. “We are pleased to welcome Kristi Jacoby to the Mount Desert Island office of Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty,” says Chris Lynch, President. “Kristi’s experience in the superyacht industry and her in-depth knowledge of Maine’s real estate landscape, coupled with her commitment to understanding each client’s unique goals, allows her to provide exceptional guidance and support. Kristi’s clients and customers will benefit from her professionalism, strategic approach, and access to our global network and resources.”

After working in the luxury superyacht industry for 15 years, sailing over 100,000 nautical miles, Kristi Jacoby moved ashore to her home on Mount Desert Island to start a family. In 2014, she was recruited to join the world of real estate and found a natural fit to share her enthusiasm for one of the most beautiful places on earth– Maine.

Kristi achieves the unique goals of each of her clients through her in-depth knowledge of local markets, her strong relationships with industry colleagues and community members, and her ability to listen intently with a deep commitment to being true to others and herself.

For buyers, purchasing a property in Maine can be alluring but sometimes overwhelming. Kristi helps her clients focus. Her extensive familiarity with communities on Mount Desert Island and by Acadia National Park, the Blue Hill Peninsula, and the Downeast region, allows Kristi to match her clients’ needs with the right property in the right location. Whether they are seeking a year-round or seasonal home, coastal village or nestled somewhere remote but accessible, Kristi ensures all client needs are met and provides helpful resources during the purchase and after closing. Navigating the challenges of the recent market with strategic offers and considerate negotiation has helped Kristi win many multiple bids, as well as the compassion to help counsel buyers to not give up and embrace their increased leverage in the present market.

Kristi partners with sellers to guide them through current market conditions, advise on proper pricing, and present and market their properties in creative ways across all platforms, always with professional representation and thoughtful showings– whether residential, land, or commercial.

Born and raised in Texas, Kristi grew up working in her parents’ independent record store, fostering her deep love of music. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, she moved to Chicago where she spent nine years in nonprofit management with the Arts & Business Council, Trinity Irish Dancers, Prevent Child Abuse America, and the Chicago Foundation for Women, honing her skills in strategic planning, fundraising, marketing and public relations.

Kristi met her husband Chad in Newport, Rhode Island, and began her maritime adventures on busy global private and chartered yachts ranging in size from 80’ to 190’. Her experiences in some of the most diverse, cosmopolitan, and remote places in the world reinforce that living in Maine is truly at the top of the list. After retiring from yachts onboard, Kristi was a freelance writer and marketing consultant to Dykstra Naval Architects, where Chad continues to be the USA representative for Global Sales when he is not captaining the 200’ sloop, Sarissa.

Thrilled to be raising their daughter Blake in such an amazing community with Acadia National Park and the Atlantic Ocean as their backyard, Kristi is presently on the board of Camp Beech Cliff and recently chaired the camp’s 25th Anniversary celebration year. When not supporting Blake’s love of basketball and marketing Chad’s hot sauces, Kristi enjoys hiking with friends, spending time on the water boating and paddleboarding, and appreciating music and art in all its forms.
