Sai De Silva Caught on Hot Mic Criticizing Co-Star Rebecca Minkoff, Says She’s ‘Boring’
Sai De Silva expressed doubts about Rebecca Minkoff’s suitability for The Real Housewives of New York City, describing her as “too nice” for the reality show during a candid moment caught on a hot mic.
While being interviewed on Jeff Lewis’ Sirius XM radio show, Sai confided to a woman seated next to her saying:
“She’s nice. She’s really, really nice, but kind of boring, to be honest. She’s too nice for the show.”
The unidentified woman responded, “She’s going to just get taken down,” to which Silva agreed, noting that the cast was trying to undermine Rebecca, albeit without success as she remained unresponsive. A producer eventually informed Sai that her comments were being recorded, prompting her to abruptly stop the conversation and show visible regret.
Page Six reported last April that Minkoff was joining the RHONY cast, which includes notable figures such as Erin Lichy, Brynn Whitfield, Jenna Lyons, Jessel Taank, and Ubah Hassan. Despite the ambiguity regarding the extent of her participation in Season 15, Minkoff has been actively involved with the cast, attending gatherings and joining a group trip to the Hamptons.
Following the announcement of her joining the show, Rebecca Minkoff was featured in photos and videos on social media, participating in various group activities with the RHONY cast. She was also seen with the cast during their recent trip to the Hamptons.
On Instagram, the style expert shared a selfie video from what appeared to be the foyer of Erin Lichy’s home in East Hampton. She showcased her evening look, consisting of a buttoned black blazer, gold pants, and gold pumps, as she prepared for a “gals night” out with the group.
Additionally, Minkoff posted pictures of herself on a tennis court, dressed in black biker shorts and a grey hoodie, captioning it, “Played tennis for the first time today. I was bad but now I wanna learn.”
Sai De Silva, who was also at the tennis event as shown in photos posted by Erin, commented on the picture, giving a shout out to the photographer.
Despite her initial criticisms, Sai seems to have engaged positively with Rebecca on social media, leaving supportive comments on her posts, including a warm Mother’s Day message.
In addition, on February 4th, Brynn Whitfield, a cast member of the RHONY reboot, hosted a Q&A session on her Instagram story where she encouraged fans to inquire about egg freezing. Responding to a fan who asked, “Are you going to do another round?” Brynn confirmed,
“Yes! I think late summer / whenever we wrap filming season 15.”
The Real Housewives of New York City reboot is currently filming Season 15.
