Tour a Family Home Layered in Warm Woods and Creamy Whites

Some homeowners have numerous design requests when it comes to remodeling their home. Others, like this young couple with three elementary-school-age kids, are a bit looser with their needs. “They really wanted a family home that they could raise their kids in, that was big for them. They also wanted it to feel warm,” says designer Alicia Torosian, who helped the couple achieve their goals. “One of the main things they asked for was a round dining table. They didn’t have a long list. They really trusted the vision and the process.”

Torosian, who uses Houzz Pro business software to manage her projects, created an inviting palette that leans heavily on welcoming creamy whites and warm wood elements. Seagrass dining chairs and textured wallpaper, as well as subtle curves on the kitchen range hood and the living room furniture and built-ins, layer in visual interest. A laundry room with powder blue cabinets and playful patterned floor tile adds a charming touch.
