JAY ELLIS IS BOTH ‘TERRIFIED’ AND ‘EXCITED’ ABOUT SECOND CHILD


In addition to recently sharing more about his upcoming memoir, “Did Everyone Have an Imaginary Friend (or Just Me?),” Insecure actor, Jay Ellis is also opening up about becoming a second-time parent soon

. The 42-year-old shared with People Magazine in an exclusive interview that he is both “terrified” and “excited” about the new bundle of joy.

“I’m terrified,” Ellis admit to the outlet in his interview. “One kid was crazy. Two kids, come on, man. I don’t know what I’m going to do. I don’t know what I’m doing. I’m very excited. I think two is enough. It’s where it ends…I think I finally achieved some version of calm in my house and now it’s about to be chaos all over again.”

Ellis and his wife, 38-year-old actress, Nina Senicar, are already parents to four-year-old daughter, Nora Grace.

However, in spite of being both “terrified” and “excited,” all in one, the Top Gun: Maverick actor says that he is prepared and ready for the “chaos” that will inevitably ensue when their family becomes a family-of-four.

“What is life if we’re not experiencing chaos and figuring out how to navigate it?” he said. “I get the opportunity to bring another kid into the world and hopefully do something good, do some good, leave them with something good. Hopefully, they get to move through the world with some of the things that I’m able to teach them and do some good themselves.”

In a previous interview, the 42-year-old actor talked about his upcoming memoir in detail, in addition to sharing a specific childhood memory that stood out to him while he was writing his new book. For Ellis, the writing journey opened up a plethora of insight into his past, allowing him to get to know himself better, which in turn, will unquestionably help him continue to nail fatherhood the second time around!

“I think there’s a vulnerability thing, too, that I didn’t clock. I was going to have to open up in a way where it was me opening up versus me performing a character who’s opening up.”

Ellis concludes, “There’s so many little things that make us who we are. I don’t think I really realized how much so many things influenced who I am today until I wrote the book.”
